This Wounded Healer Takes On Building A Healing Business

1

In my last blog post I mentioned breathing problems, and, as with so many of us who live with chronic conditions, adding a new problem to my admittedly small list is a bit overwhelming. I shake, I have pain, and now I have compromised lungs. Woohoo. Not.

Three bouts of bronchitis and one of pneumonia over the past three years has done enough damage to my lungs that working in a manufacturing environment meant that the chemicals in the air necessitated inhalers, which didn’t help. More than once I got into my car at day’s end and sat there, gasping for air. After literally nearly choking to death on congestion while sick with bronchitis (the most terrifying thing you never want to go through, let me tell you), the fear of not being able to breathe is a constant, and as I tweeted, “You don’t realize how much you take breathing for granted until you can’t!”

What this has done – again, touched on in my last post – is create a determination to live the life of my dreams, helping others with my healing work. Planning isn’t my strong point, but I’ve turned my Passion Planner into a business planner, keeping track of blog and social media ideas, as well as client appointments and feedback. I’ve got my eye on a guide for business and blogging from Blessing Manifesting, too.

IMG_20181126_082929264.jpg

I’m taking the need for little physical activity as message from the ‘verse to knock my shit off and run this business as a business, otherwise what’s the bloody point, right? Squandering my ability would be such a waste, and if I don’t do this, I’m going to look back one day and regret being too scared to really step up and make a serious go of it. I’ve done it half-assed over the years, having that “it will all work out” mentality, but in reality it hasn’t, and it’s because I blithely expected a successful business to just fall into my lap with as little effort as possible on my part. I tend to go through life that way, as I’m sure many of you have noticed. 😉

This journey is going to be something new for me, and I hope to be of service to you as I build this dream bigger than I could have ever dreamed!

You Shouldn’t Accept Money for Energy Work

I discovered the ability to help others feel better back in 2009, and I’ve heard that line more times than I can count. The reason being either…

1: It’s a gift from God/the Universe/Spirit, so you can’t charge.

2: You can’t guarantee results.

Valid statements, but they miss the crucial point: my (and every other energy worker out there’s) time is valuable. And while, yes, everyone has the ability to help others and it is something innate in all of us, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t pay the one doing the work for you for their time.

The vast majority of people can cook, can write, can dip a paintbrush into paint and swipe it across a canvas; does that mean you shouldn’t pay for your meal at a restaurant, your secretary for taking your phone messages, the artist for the painting they created? Of course not!

As for guarantees; of course we can’t. No one can. Your doctor can’t guarantee results, ever. Every human is different, everyone experiences medications differently (I react quite badly to most of them, even the ones specific to an issue), and not one single doctor will ever say, “I guarantee this will work. Quote me on that.” because that would be foolish and open them up to lawsuits.

I would never promise results because technically I am not doing the work – your soul and the energies of the universe are working together to give you the best boost to your innate healing that you are willing to accept; I’m just the facilitator for that boost. Say what? All that means is that if you really, on a subconscious level, don’t really want to feel better, then no medication or energy work in the world will help you feel better. It just doesn’t work that way.

That still doesn’t mean that your doctor’s time isn’t valuable, or that an energy worker’s isn’t, either. Many of us have health issues of our own, and being able to do this work and make a living at it is what makes it possible to pay our rent and buy groceries when we can’t go out and work for others. I lost my job because of my tremors and fibromyalgia and their resulting problems. I have difficulty typing, which is needed to do the sit-down work I used to do, I don’t have the physical ability to do the retail work anymore, and every single time I step out the front door my tremors kick into third gear, making finding work incredibly difficult, if not impossible. Being able to work from home has saved so many of us!

Most energy workers battle within themselves over whether or not to charge, whether those statement above are right, whether what they do actually has value, and, since the world equates the money you make with your worth, it can start a pretty nasty spiral down into the world of self-esteem and self-worth.

We just need to remember that we are valuable, and so is the service we provide!!

We bring light to the world, and every beacon of light is needed. 🙂

With hope,

Pip 🙂

Bringing Back A Favorite Distance Healing Session

Yesterday I did a favorite distance session for someone in the Norway, and she responded with, “First, I cried, then I felt like I was being aired out, and now I’m so tired I can’t even make myself go to bed, lol.” I smiled for a long time after reading that! 🙂

I love this session because not only does it help people get some rest, but it works on a deep level that plays out over time. You may not connect the changes back to the session, but that’s ok, your Higher Self knows. 🙂

This is what I wrote about it in 2016 when I resurrected it from 2013 (and yes, the pricing is the same):

Are you ready for a change?

Later on I’m going to make a separate page in the menu for this session alone, that way it’s easy to find and more people can learn about it!

I’m looking forward to doing a lot of these sessions!!

Much love!

March…

What a month. Not my favorite March ever, that’s for sure, but far from the worst at the same time. If you’re an astrology buff, then Mercury Retrograde is kicking my ass, and hasn’t stopped. Not an astrology buff? Well, then, this month just bit. It’s as simple as that.

On the good side, things around here have been blooming like mad for a few weeks, and this is one of my favorite spring sights every year:

Yep, that’s my local grocery story. It’s always so pretty in March!!

I’ve had plenty of time to enjoy the seasonal changes, partly due to the social media break, and partly because I’m enjoying (can you sense the sarcasm?) a new fibromyalgia issue: headaches, dizziness, and nausea. Just all of a sudden I woke up with a horrid case of all 3 last Saturday, and every day since has had some degree of them. I did some research, and while the all-over pain is the most common symptom of fibro, these symptoms are pretty much next in line. There’s a way to help alleviate them called Trigger Point Massage (this website is great!) and I’ve been doing the massage, but it’s not quite kicking it, so ugh. Yesterday was a bad day*, so I spent most of it outside in the sun, reading. My hair hasn’t been this short in eons, so I completely didn’t think about my ears; I believe I may have sunburned the tips!

The urge to check Twitter has gone away, but the urge to tweet hasn’t. My head is filled with things like:

“My doctor rocks!”

“Two hawks just flew overhead, and then a raven. And then another raven. #birdwatch”

“Oooh, if you’re in Maryland, check out a new exhibit that my friend Michael is part of! #boostthesignal”

“I took all the apps off my phone, and now I barely touch it. Why do I have a smartphone?”

Random stuff like that. Instead, it swims around in my head until something else catches my attention. It’s kind of weird how the internet has done that to us, isn’t it?

I’ve been reading more blogs (when I do get online), and I’m really enjoying that. I’ve also read 3 books in as many days. 😉

Tomorrow night I’m doing a distance healing session, and yesterday I had an in-person very, very short one (it was for as long as I could stand up without getting dizzy). I’m so happy that I’m still being asked to help others; it really makes my day.

Much love!

Pip

*People with fibro have “flares”, days when things are really, really bad. At this point, I’m calling the bad headache/dizziness/nausea days that term, because they really, really suck.

The Filofax Itch

…and other non-Filofax thoughts.

At the end of last year I wasn’t in the position to purchase new Filofax inserts, so I picked up a planner at Walgreens. It’s about 5×7, has big pages and print…and the pages fit perfectly in my A5 Filofax Chameleon.

Every time I open the planner, I have the urge to tear all the pages out and put them in the Chameleon, but the thought of punching holes, one by one because I don’t have a hole punch that does this configuration, is exhausting. But boy, that Chameleon is calling to me! The pages are too big for my Personal Malden (unless I also cut the pages down to size), but the definitely call out to be out of their binder. Pretty as it is.

What is a body to do?? Lol

In other news, a friend sent me a link to this great post by Starhawk, which is all committing to regeneration in the face of what is going on in the US. This friend is also the only person I know who is actually sanguine about the situation, as she sees the need for the dissolution of so much that is wrong so that we can build newer and better. I see her point, but I’ll be honest, I’m still terrified.

I just watched Arwen’s Tarotscope for this week, and the affirmation she came up with, “Today I create peace” is a really wonderful one. With so much fear and stress, doing what little bit we can to create peace is very important. What ways can you do that in your world? I’m trying not to RT as many tweets about what’s going on, not to ignore it, but to honor those in my timelines who are triggered terribly by all of this. I was a bit crazy with the RTs for a while (I could, and still can NOT fathom all of this), and I had to slow down, even for me. I was giving myself anxiety, and that’s not helpful at all.

I began doing more energy healing on myself, alleviating those feelings and doing my best to bring calm and peace into my head and body. It was the only other thing I could think of! 🙂 I am happy to help anyone else who could use some of that in their life, too.

I’m trying to spend a bit less time online, and took out some great books from the library. I just finished The Dovekeepers by Alice Hoffman, and next up is The Marriage of Opposites. The Dovekeepers was amazing, and I’ll be on the lookout for it at my favorite bookstore.

How are you coping with the non-stop barrage?

Oh! Almost forgot! My friend Ronda, she of the fantastic malas, responded to a tweet of mine about trading a session for a Pussy Hat. Yes, the ones worn at the Women’s March. I received it last week and it’s so cool! It’s multiple colors for #solidarityindiversity, which is fantastic! Sadly, it’s been too warm to wear it so far. But I will!

Take care all, and be kind to yourselves.

Much love,

Pip 🙂

Happy April!!!

It’s snowing here! Lightly, but still. It’s April! All the flowers and trees are in full bloom, the grass is growing…and it’s snowing. Mother Nature’s giant April Fool’s joke. 😉

The other day I was pondering life and all that goes with it, and I came across this blog post by Alexandra Franzen, called He’s Waiting. She’s Listening. In it she discusses when she began blogging and feeling like what she was writing wasn’t making any difference. And then something amazing happened, and she remembered the truth of writing:

“The truth, which is:

If you write something and share it — and your words help one human being to experience a better day, or a better life — then your work is a tremendous success.

And also,

You never, ever know how your words might influence someone else’s life.”

I have felt insignificant many times over the years, both as a blogger and a healer, and that post really hit home and sent me thinking. What I write here will, as the subtitle says, be “a little of this, a little of that”, because, well, that’s how I roll. Things catch my interest and I want to tell someone!

I’ve missed blogging, and plan to do much more of it. I promise not to inundate you, though!

I hope you continue to follow along, and please, if you’re in need of a healing boost, check out website, see how I can help you (even from across the world!), and let’s get you feeling better, ok? OK! 🙂

What is Distance Healing?

Good question.

A few years ago, while reading Sea of Miracles by Amy Oscar, I came upon mention of “Indra’s Net” and the concept really struck home:

In the realm of the god Indra is a vast net that stretches infinitely in all directions. In each “eye” of the net is a single brilliant, perfect jewel. Each jewel also reflects every other jewel, infinite in number, and each of the reflected images of the jewels bears the image of all the other jewels — infinity to infinity. Whatever effects (sic) one jewel effects (sic) them all.”

“Whatever affects one jewel affects them all.” The way I look at it, we all are jewels in this infinite net, and when I sit outside with my teddy bear, sending light to someone across the globe, that healing light is winging its way along the web, heading right towards that exact jewel that is in need of help. Along the way, it also affects those around that jewel, not in such a strong manner – maybe even just fleetingly – but all are affected.

So when you’re wondering if signing up for a distance session when you live in, oh, Norway or Australia, would have any affect on you…it does. I have the feedback that lets me know it does. I know it may be difficult to understand just how it works, and I don’t honestly know, either (but the web/net metaphor helps me bring some sense to it), but somehow, some way it does.

The benefit of having a distance session is that you are in your own comfortable space, you don’t have to get dressed up, and if you fall asleep (which does happen at times), you’re already home! And, most of all, you’re receiving the help you asked for. Win-win!

Do You Deserve Energy Healing, Part 2

As I mentioned last week, people sometimes respond to the offer of healing light with, “Save it for someone who needs it more”, and today I cover what I see as the second implication contained in that comment.

It seems that there is a belief that healing light/energy is a finite commodity, and as such, can be depleted. Not so! I’ll be honest: I don’t actually know where it comes from or how it flows through me to you (though I do use the word “Spirit” in that context), but I do believe that the universe IS energy. And by not using it to help others, we are leaving a huge potential for healing left untapped.

As far as I’m aware, the energy is infinite, and I do know that Spirit knows exactly who I am sending light to, even if all I have to go on is a screen name.

So please, allow the healing energy to help you! You deserve health, and you are not taking away from someone else; there is more than enough to go around!

Do You Deserve Energy Healing?

I admit it: I’m a healing-light pusher. 😉

Yes, I fully intend to make my living as a healer very, very soon, and so paid sessions are obviously my bread and butter. That doesn’t stop me from offering to send light to a friend when a need comes up out of the blue, though.

What interests me is that I sometimes receive a response such as, “I’d rather the energy be spent on those who need it more”, which, to me, has two implications.

First, that there is a belief that a stubbed toe, a sudden headache, a hand that was slammed in a door isn’t something that is worthy of being helped. That healing-light is only for “big” problems and ailments.

Nothing could be further from the truth! Healing-light is for every problem, no matter how small or seemingly insignificant. No one needs to suffer simply because there are souls who are dealing with cancer, and in comparison your issue seems trivial. Your pain still matters, especially to you! Denying yourself relief in the erroneous belief that someone else “deserves” it more is counter-productive.

Maybe you need your pain healed so that you can unexpectedly help someone in more pain that you, or you’re able to work and make a bit of extra money and donate it to a good cause, or you’re able to help someone enter a store with a bit more ease…we never know what the ‘verse has in store for us, and It is quite positive that we all deserve health. So it’s ok to accept it!

I’ll write about the second implication in my blog post next week!

How do you feel about accepting light for small problems, whether physical or emotional? Do you feel you aren’t worthy of accepting it? Why? Please, I’d love to hear your comments!

Are You Ready For A Change?

I’ve decided to bring back a session that I offered in 2013, one that received some amazing feedback from both Amanda Donnelly and Bonnie Cehovet (please note: the links to my sites in those posts are no longer active). A new year, changing times, and the growing feeling we all have concerning speaking out, standing up for ourselves, and making the world a better place; these all speak to some of the ways that this particular session can help.

Here is what I wrote about it back then:

Dare To Live The Possibilities!

Most of us gave away our power to be our true selves, whether consciously or not, long ago…many of us did so when we were young and society began telling us that “this is right, this is wrong”. We’ve grown up with rules about our behavior, our attire, our sexual preferences…pretty much every aspect of our lives, and we’ve buried who we really are deep down inside, shutting the doors to those feelings and trying to forget they exist.

For women especially, we have had to hide our true feminine powers and sexuality, or alternately, had it splashed all over the place and judged in negative ways. We are expected to be the quiet little woman during the day, and the temptress at night…neither of which is our true nature. We are a mix of so many things, and we have forgotten that. We spend so much time in our heads, letting thoughts, both ours and others’, dictate our lives, and we aren’t actually living IN our bodies, our strength, or our hearts. Most men aren’t, either.

Are you interested in those doors flinging open and feeling the joys of of new possibilities? Do you dare?

Yes? Wonderful, because I can help with that!

I help shift the improbable into the possible.

This distance session consists of unblocking energies in 5 crucial areas of our lives: our sense of self, our sexuality and creativity, our sense of personal power and choice, loving ourselves unconditionally, and speaking our truths.

We are glorious beings, and we are not here to hide in corners, judging and being judged, while also doubting ourselves and our feelings; no, we are here to shine in all our truth and personal power!

You have the choice of a one hour session for $75,

or a deeper, 90-minute session for $125.

Each person has a different experience when energies are unblocked; you may simply feel free, joyous and alive, or you could feel emotions come to the forefront to be felt and released, opening you to a emotional cleansing on many levels. You could cry or sleep. Some have a sudden insight into where exactly they want their life to go and who they want to be, or some have had dreams leading them to experiences they never knew they wanted…it’s all up to your soul and the Divine to free you in the best way for you. I am simply the joyous catalyst for this shift.

If you are ready for a change, pay for your session here, and then we will set up an appointment to let the real you shine!
