What’s Your Oasis?

I was just sending healing light to someone, and sitting outside as usual, watching nature. I caught site of a ladybug frantically climbing up and down the weeds that we allow to grow around the birdbath. I thought she was an ant at first because of how she was moving. Then she climbed one stalk and paused in the fern-like thing at the top, but almost immediately turned back around and started her frantic pace again.

You can just see her hiding in there.

She climbed three or four other stalks, then ran back up that particular one that caused her to pause, and she’s been there ever since.

She found her oasis.

The light I was sending was for anxiety and panic attacks, and it just kept running through my mind: find your oasis, find your oasis.

So, I wonder, what’s yours?

PS: this weekend was rough. Taking care of someone’s sick dog, boredom (extreme boredom), and that voice in my head was devious. Very devious. But I didn’t let it get the best of me. 🙂

Buy a Session, Help a Family

Hey, all.

My friend’s husband died last week, and they are trying to raise money for his cremation, service, and to help with medical expenses on GoFundMe.

Ron and his granddaughter.

If you purchase a Dare Session, I will donate the FULL amount to the fund, and you will get a free Dare Session (of equal price) as a gift for helping. You can use it for yourself (I’d recommend at least 6 months between sessions. Maybe even a year.)

I’ve Been Raging At THAT MAN For Too Long

Ever since the election, I’ve been in a state of, well, quite frankly, “Define Interesting.” “Oh god, oh god, we’re all gonna die.”* Rage, fear, stress, depression, despair, helplessness…you name it. So many of us have been – and it’s draining us.

I’ve been caught in the quicksand, unable to pull myself out, finding myself retweeting post after post, unable to step back and not feed the beast. I didn’t know how else to make a difference, but I think in reality, I was just another person making things a little bit worse with the endless focus on the negative. I haven’t been mindful of what I’ve been adding to the mix, and I apologize to those who have been caught up in my fear. I’m fairly sure I’ve lost a friend or two along the way, and that saddens me.

This morning I woke, checked Twitter, and slowly it dawned on me that I *can* make a difference, one that is more subtle, but no less important than helping bring to light all the darkness that’s been festering for too long. I’m a lightworker. I’m supposed to be working on the side of service, not regurgitating negativity. As my friend Michael said, “Be the light, Pip. Be the light.”

By working to help others feel better via distance healing sessions, I, and others who have this ability, can begin aiding souls so stuck in that quicksand that they’ve lost hope of ever getting out. Souls that have been abused and are still to afraid to talk about it, souls that endure racism and hatred daily, souls that have lost all hope.

I can’t change your life, but I can ease some of the stress and pain for a bit. I can help bring “healing harmony” (thanks, Alice, for coming up with that phrase to describe what I do!) to your mind and body, giving you a time of peace in which to feel comforted and rested.

I hope you’ll do me the honor of allowing me to help you in whatever small way I can. I offer sessions for $1.00 a minute, and I also have more intense sessions that work to help you speak your truth, which has a different price structure.

I look forward to being of service, and I promise to slow down on all the retweets! 🙂

Essential Tremor and Healing

*I was moving some of the more interesting blog posts from my now-defunct other website to here. This is from September 2017.*

In my bios across social media, I state that I live with essential tremor (or on the shorter bios, just have #essentialtremor), but I don’t think many people really know what that is, or what it looks like. Tremors come in many shapes and forms, including Parkinson’s, but the type I have affects my hands and arms – and in extreme stress, my head and voice. Katharine Hepburn had essential tremor, though almost all reports mislabeled it Parkinson’s.

I’ve been sick with bronchitis the past two weeks, and as always, medications mess with my tremors. Even ones that are for tremors!! I had hoped to go into work today, not only to give the poor man who is covering my days a break, but because bills don’t stop for illness. 😉

Instead, this is how my day is going, and will until my meds are gone in another week or two. And there’s no guarantee that they will calm back down after the meds are gone, either. Last time it took months.

On the cool side, when I send someone energy (and especially in person), sometimes it feels like an internal energetic massage, and from what I hear, feels really good!

Life’s never boring, is it? 😉

The Filofax Itch

…and other non-Filofax thoughts.

At the end of last year I wasn’t in the position to purchase new Filofax inserts, so I picked up a planner at Walgreens. It’s about 5×7, has big pages and print…and the pages fit perfectly in my A5 Filofax Chameleon.

Every time I open the planner, I have the urge to tear all the pages out and put them in the Chameleon, but the thought of punching holes, one by one because I don’t have a hole punch that does this configuration, is exhausting. But boy, that Chameleon is calling to me! The pages are too big for my Personal Malden (unless I also cut the pages down to size), but the definitely call out to be out of their binder. Pretty as it is.

What is a body to do?? Lol

In other news, a friend sent me a link to this great post by Starhawk, which is all committing to regeneration in the face of what is going on in the US. This friend is also the only person I know who is actually sanguine about the situation, as she sees the need for the dissolution of so much that is wrong so that we can build newer and better. I see her point, but I’ll be honest, I’m still terrified.

I just watched Arwen’s Tarotscope for this week, and the affirmation she came up with, “Today I create peace” is a really wonderful one. With so much fear and stress, doing what little bit we can to create peace is very important. What ways can you do that in your world? I’m trying not to RT as many tweets about what’s going on, not to ignore it, but to honor those in my timelines who are triggered terribly by all of this. I was a bit crazy with the RTs for a while (I could, and still can NOT fathom all of this), and I had to slow down, even for me. I was giving myself anxiety, and that’s not helpful at all.

I began doing more energy healing on myself, alleviating those feelings and doing my best to bring calm and peace into my head and body. It was the only other thing I could think of! 🙂 I am happy to help anyone else who could use some of that in their life, too.

I’m trying to spend a bit less time online, and took out some great books from the library. I just finished The Dovekeepers by Alice Hoffman, and next up is The Marriage of Opposites. The Dovekeepers was amazing, and I’ll be on the lookout for it at my favorite bookstore.

How are you coping with the non-stop barrage?

Oh! Almost forgot! My friend Ronda, she of the fantastic malas, responded to a tweet of mine about trading a session for a Pussy Hat. Yes, the ones worn at the Women’s March. I received it last week and it’s so cool! It’s multiple colors for #solidarityindiversity, which is fantastic! Sadly, it’s been too warm to wear it so far. But I will!

Take care all, and be kind to yourselves.

Much love,

Pip 🙂

What Happens During an Energy Session?

This question, oh, it’s a tough one.

Why?, you ask. Well, because it’s specific to each and every person. Overwhelmingly, the feeling most mentioned is peace; sometimes in a wave, sometimes later, but almost always peace. As one client said, “I feel light-hearted and calm. I felt the light she sent and in an instant was overwhelmed with a joy (not to mention the tingles).”

As for the basics, I’m often asked, “What do I need to do?”, and the answer is, “Whatever you would like!” There’s no specific way to receive healing light, and you can go on with your normal day, you can do yoga, nap, get a massage, watch tv…it’s up to you. I do mention that it’s possible that you may fall asleep (it seems to happen when there is a lot of stress, exhaustion, or pain involved), so you can schedule your session with that in mind. During one particularly deep hour-long session (I used to call it the Dare Session), a client once fell asleep for 12 hours!

You don’t need to wear anything in particular, don’t need to remove your jewelry, don’t need to be somewhere quiet; all you need to do is be willing to receive.

A session is not done by phone, Skype, or email, either. You purchase a session for $45, I receive an email confirmation, and then we exchange a few emails wherein I ask what the session is for, if there’s a particular ailment or part of the body you want the light focused on, we set up a time, and off we go!

Before the session, I will email that I’m about to start, and will do the same once I’ve completed the work. I tend to say something like, “Let me know if it helps!” or, “I hope it helps”, because the way the healing manifests within you may be completely different from what you expected. For instance, one in-person client was having a bit of back pain and as I worked on her, she stated that it felt like, “little dwarves working on my back, then light jumped from my back, over my head and straight to my heart chakra”. The light knows where it needs to go and what needs to be done. Oh, and yes, her back felt better, too. 🙂

I have found that clients may not always associate later shifts and healing with a session, and I admit, sometimes I want to say, “Hey! Remember the work we did??”, but that’s my ego talking, and it really needs to learn to chill. 😉

Of all the clients I’ve helped, only two had unpleasant memories rise to the surface after a particularly intense Dare Session – whose purpose was to specifically unblock the energies in the lower 5 chakras. It’s not for the light of heart, but if you really want to unblock a lot of stuff and stir up the mud to see what rises to the surface so you can face it, deal with it, and let it go, I’m ready to help. Read Amanda Donnelly’s post about her experiences to get a feel for what could happen. 🙂 Send me an email and let me know you want the Dare Session, and we’ll set it up!

Hopefully this post gives you a little insight into what goes on during a session, and if you have any questions, again, shoot me an email! I’m more than happy to answer questions!

One last thing: I am not a medical intuitive. This means that no, I can not tell you what is causing this or that pain, nor will I be able to sense anything going on in your body: I am a conduit and the gift I have does not include that ability. The light flows through me and into you; I can tell where there are a lot of stuck emotions and/or pain by the way my hands feel, and occasionally, very occasionally, I may see something in my environment that seems to be a little sign meant for you, and I will let you know what I saw and what it seemed to mean to me. Beyond that, no, I cannot tell you more.

Rereading “Second Sight”

A few years ago I read Judith Orloff’s book, Second Sight, and I recently borrowed it from the library again. This is one of those books that, when I start doubting myself, brings me right back to knowing that I’m doing what I do exactly the way that it is supposed to be done. That I need to remember to trust the universe, and let it lead the way.

She mentions a healer named Jack, “I never saw Jack reverse cancer or perform any such miraculous cures, but his patients did improve. Naively, I had hoped he could relieve them of all their symptoms, but I soon discovered that healing didn’t work that way. What Jack gave his patients was a second wind, a jump-start of powerful energy.”

I know that my work isn’t of the miraculous sort, and yet I also know that it definitely makes a difference in the client’s life.

She then later mentions a woman named Rosalyn, “She’d been treating me for stomach problems the past few months.” (italics mine) “My physical symptoms markedly improved during these treatments. Not only did Rosalyn rid me of the annoying tight knot in the pit of my stomach, but her sessions left me with a sense of extreme well-being that would last for hours.”

That passage reminds me that while most clients request a single session, some issues are not as simple as a headache or a quick release of stuck emotions, and may take more than one treatment. And that I need to step up and let those particular potential clients know this and not be afraid to sound pushy doing so. I have to trust my instincts and stop keeping myself small when it is in the client’s best interest for me to stand tall in my inner knowing.

When Orloff began doing energy healing herself, she noted, “I simply sat on the couch, hands steady on her body, allowing myself to be a vehicle through which love could flow. To be successful, healing requires a transparency, a passive receptivity, rather than any purposeful effort.”

I find that if I let my ego get in the way, wondering “if, if, if”, as I’m doing a session, then the flow of light and love is lessened, whereas when I let my mind wander to the show I’m watching or the birds around the feeder, even the clouds floating across the sky, then Spirit has an uninterrupted conduit through me and can do the work that needs to be done. The love flows to where it needs to be, and in the amount the client’s soul is ready for.

As a practitioner of a not-always-obvious way of helping people, it’s easy to get lost in the worries of “am I good enough, am I doing enough, did I help them, will they notice…and on and on.” Rereading this book reminds me that none of this is about me, and that the universe chose me to do this work, and the universe knows what it’s doing.

I really need to just buy this book. 😉

“Your energy was patient and unobtrusive.”

Recently I answered a Twitter request for help from Lisa, aka Amethyst Lane, and to be quite honest, I misunderstood the request and sent directly to her. 🙂 Afterwards, she said she would let me know later how the energy felt to her, and this is what she said:

“I am very guarded in general so asking for communal help to assist in my healing work is rare. Several answered the call and I appreciate all. Yours was very distinct and I am not sure it reflects your personality because we’ve never met but I *knew* it was from you. Your energy was patient and unobtrusive. It waited for me to be ready to receive it (apparently recognizing my guardedness). It was gentle and when I opened myself to it, it enveloped me like a gentle breeze building in power and lingering until I could drop my guards, breathe naturally, and rest. In other words, “it was exactly what I needed”. Thank you so much.”

I cried. 🙂

What is Distance Healing?

Good question.

A few years ago, while reading Sea of Miracles by Amy Oscar, I came upon mention of “Indra’s Net” and the concept really struck home:

In the realm of the god Indra is a vast net that stretches infinitely in all directions. In each “eye” of the net is a single brilliant, perfect jewel. Each jewel also reflects every other jewel, infinite in number, and each of the reflected images of the jewels bears the image of all the other jewels — infinity to infinity. Whatever effects (sic) one jewel effects (sic) them all.”

“Whatever affects one jewel affects them all.” The way I look at it, we all are jewels in this infinite net, and when I sit outside with my teddy bear, sending light to someone across the globe, that healing light is winging its way along the web, heading right towards that exact jewel that is in need of help. Along the way, it also affects those around that jewel, not in such a strong manner – maybe even just fleetingly – but all are affected.

So when you’re wondering if signing up for a distance session when you live in, oh, Norway or Australia, would have any affect on you…it does. I have the feedback that lets me know it does. I know it may be difficult to understand just how it works, and I don’t honestly know, either (but the web/net metaphor helps me bring some sense to it), but somehow, some way it does.

The benefit of having a distance session is that you are in your own comfortable space, you don’t have to get dressed up, and if you fall asleep (which does happen at times), you’re already home! And, most of all, you’re receiving the help you asked for. Win-win!

Do You Deserve Energy Healing, Part 2

As I mentioned last week, people sometimes respond to the offer of healing light with, “Save it for someone who needs it more”, and today I cover what I see as the second implication contained in that comment.

It seems that there is a belief that healing light/energy is a finite commodity, and as such, can be depleted. Not so! I’ll be honest: I don’t actually know where it comes from or how it flows through me to you (though I do use the word “Spirit” in that context), but I do believe that the universe IS energy. And by not using it to help others, we are leaving a huge potential for healing left untapped.

As far as I’m aware, the energy is infinite, and I do know that Spirit knows exactly who I am sending light to, even if all I have to go on is a screen name.

So please, allow the healing energy to help you! You deserve health, and you are not taking away from someone else; there is more than enough to go around!
